USHLI Proudly Salutes Hispanic Serving Institutions   USHLI proudly salutes Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) nationally, but especially those closer to home, during this Hispanic Serving Institutions Week. Nationally, there are 569 HSIs in 30 states. An estimated 67% of all Hispanic students in the nation attend HSIs. The role of HSIs in the education of Hispanic students is critical because they offer students a sense of belonging, which is essential to a learning environment and growing, and preparing themselves for the challenges they will face in the future.  Today's students will be in their prime when the nation's Hispanic population will exceed 100 million, making the role HSIs are playing today in our education even more important, and for that we salute you! USHLI looks forward to supporting HSIs in our service area. Our 5th HSI Convening will be February 14, 2025, during our national conference at the Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverwalk. We hope every HSI in our immediate service area will attend.      About USHLI USHLI is the only Chicago-based Hispanic organization, the only one in the Midwest, and one of only six national organizations to be honored by both the President of the United States and the Government of Mexico. USHLI is the only Chicago-based Hispanic organization to have a President of the United States, a Vice-President of the United States, a future President of the United States, and presidential candidates address its annual conference. USHLI is the only Chicago-based organization to be named National Hispanic Organization of the Year.
