4th Hispanic Serving Institutions
Convening

USHLI held its 4th convening of Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) at Malcolm X College on June 17. Our special guest speaker was Dr. Antonia Novello, the 14th Surgeon of the United States. The guest speaker was Refugio Atilano, author of the recently released Latino Leadership Playbook.

As in prior convenings, the purpose was to provide representatives of federal agencies an opportunity to share information on ongoing as well as new programs and grants available to HSIs and deadlines for applications.
Federal agencies represented at this convening were the National Telecommunications and Information Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
